I’m Back!

It’s been some time, world! I am back with a new website, new look and feel and brand-new outlook on life!

In March of this year I closed Public Kitchen permanently. It was not an easy decision to make and I am eternally grateful for Public Kitchen and the time I got to learn and grow there. As a chef, a dad, a husband, an entrepreneur, and general human being. I am tasked almost daily with making difficult decisions. Some are more apparent than others and while my first baby was a success, I could feel deep down it was time for a change. With a heavy heart I announced it, and all of a sudden, I no longer had what took me years and years to build. What was I to do next? After working so diligently for so many years, I knew right away I needed a little time for myself and for my family.

I spent this past summer reflecting on the last seven years of my life, spending time with my family, spending time with myself and understanding what the real meaning of success truly is. I feel like so many of us chase money, but don’t chase health or true happiness. What good is money or success if you aren’t healthy enough to enjoy it?

Having written three award winning cookbooks, acted as a Vegan consultant for luxury brands all over the world, getting married to the most beautiful woman, becoming a regular fixture on television, becoming a father, opening two successful business and more, took a great deal of my time and energy. I came to realize that not only was I not fully there to enjoy it all, but I was not taking the time to maintain my own health. I put on weight, I had far too many negative emotions, and I lost the vigor and energy for life and business that I once had!

The time I took was not only life changing on every level, but it allowed me to really focus on what my career, my family and my own self truly mean to me. Life is short, life is precious and life should never be taken for granted. We are here for only a short time, and we must make the most out of it while we can!

What is going on now? I am excited to be writing my fourth cookbook, working on Mythology Diner, being an amazing dad to Ewan, understanding and loving husband to Candice, but most of all working on myself daily to become a better person and businessman. Don’t get me wrong, I will be working on other projects, and I am excited to share them with you all.
